Rufit's Rest Inn and Brewery
A sizable building facing the plaza for which it has been named that must once have been startling in its beauty. The ground floor has been rebuilt, a measure of its faded luster restored, a brightly-enameled sign proudly proclaiming the inn and brewery's name.

Within can be found a large taproom featuring a number of house offerings by the two resident brew-masters, the Dwarf Helja Hammerfell (whose Orcskull stout and Goblin Tooth lagers are both popular with her people) and her partner, the Half-Orc Moog is known for his Ember Brook Red Ale and highly alcoholic Gorgon's Spit Bitter.

The upper floors have been extensively renovated. The middle floor, above the pub given over to eight smaller rooms, suitable for short term stays, comprising most of the inn's custom.

The uppermost floor has been divided into six slightly more spacious rooms, intended for extended residence.

Each is provided with sturdy, simple geometric furnishings in Dwarven style of hardwood, some pottery and slate-tiled floors. A large bed, side table, stand for clothing, weapons and armor, and a chair are standard. Small writing desks and an armoire are added to the uppermost rooms' furnishings.

Each room has a sturdy wooden door with its own lock and key, the inn having a heavy, pleasantly solid air about it, executed in ruddy copper and earth tones.

Shrine of the Defender
Outside the city's gates, within sight of the walls on Nellus grounds is the Shrine to the Defender. Surrounded by rolling hills, the shrine is hardly what one would expect of a place of worship. A small cottage of stone built on battered earth likely used as some sort of practice grounds, it is but lightly manned, often only a single priest waiting to assist the devout with their prayers. Tends to be used mainly by the men of the Legion or King's Guard, given the sparse worship accorded to Bel around Port Eilast.

  • First among the shrine's priests is Centurion Evram Lorentis of the Sulanese Legion.
  • Aside from Centurion Lorentis, there are only a precious few acolytes in training, though a fair number of Knights or Templars devoted to the Defender visit the cottage shrine from time to time.

Temple of Enlightenment
The Ijunko have established their presence in Port Eilast with the Temple of Enlightenment. This magnificent domed edifice, built of granite and marble, dominates the Plaza of Drakes. Though fallen into disuse and ruin in recent years, greybeards may remember it as having once been the Temple of Suilan.

Though of unquestionably western design and architecture, the Temple has been re-built and refurbished within in eastern style, no expense spared to create an atmosphere of peace, serenity, and martial purity. The central hall, nearly fifty feet high and capped by a domed skylight, serves both as a sort of outer court and training ground. Here the many Juni holy monks train and practice their devotions, a sight stunning to behold in their saffron and ivory silks.

The upper levels all have balconies opening onto this spectacle. While below are the monks' cells, each subsequent level of these adjoining structures grows more opulent and spacious, from bureaucrat's offices to meditation shrines to, eventually, the apartments of the aristocracy.

The whole is done in bright silks, intricate stonework and bright gold, while the most important or delicate pieces are done in jade, the precious material most favored by the Juni in both its green and most prized, rarer white form.
