Life and death measured on the edge of a sword, the rhythm of blows the shifting of the opponent the weight of steel in hand. The dance of blades follows circles which have never changed, however much some may not realize, their patters can be seen and intercepted. The art of the blade is studied by few, understood by fewer still and rarely mastered yet to know the sword is to understand life as well as death. -From the philosophy of Ealen Torein, Vardandrin master of the fifth circle in the time of the schism.
Central Location: None. Mastery of the blade rises above nationality and location, teachers are found as often in dusty old tomes as in errant travellers.
Membership: Loose. Ones journey into mastery of the blade begins often with the teachings of a tutor but not always. The mark of the six rings, a tattoo of entwined circles is recognized by blademasters in all reaches of the world, yet some have marked themselves with no training whatsoever.
Leadership: None. Blade masters recognize those who have learned more than them as teachers, those who have learned less than them as students and those within the same circle as their peers.
Symbol: Six interwoven circles crafted of steel, silver, glass, copper, bone and blood. Often these circles are represented by colors instead, grey, blue, white, brown, black and red. These circles and hues are said to represent elements of the old times, earth, water, air, fire, death and life.
Other Information: A study of philosophy and war, blended in the immesurable time when the Ael toiled beneath the Titans, the six rings is an art of life and death. Once mastered by those of Ael who dared to rail against their captors, the art diluted over the long ages as the Ael taught some among those they'd brought to life. In those days, there were some few who mastered the sixth circle but now such things are only the stuff of legendry.
